Setting goals and monitoring your progress will ensure a greater degree of success. Whether you want to fit into those size 8 jeans, have a 32-inch waist, or a BMI of 24, it's important to have a goal so you can appropriately plan and track your success.

Goals will vary greatly from one person to another. Maybe you're happy with your weight but want to turn some of that flab into muscle. Maybe your doctor has given you orders to lose 30 pounds. There are many tools for determining your body's need for weight optimization, from stepping on the scale to elaborate computerized fat percentage measurement machines. Whatever tool you choose, set a firm weight-loss goal! Believe that you can do this... because you CAN!

One very popular and useful measurement used by health professionals world-wide is "Body Mass Index" (BMI). The BMI takes into consideration both your height and your weight and uses a classification that correlates well with general health risk factors and longevity.

Capture your progress with before, during, and after pictures.

They are a great motivator as you go through your weight loss journey and watch your body transform.

Mark your starting weight and waist size and other body measurements using the MiForm Progress Tracker sheet included in the back of this booklet. If you are so inclined, you can add in neck, chest, arm, hip and thigh circumferences, body fat percentage, or other measurements you can consistently document. Blood pressure and heart rate are also very good tools that reflect your general health.

  • Buddy up for fun, encouragement and motivation! Get a weight-loss partner. Losing weight when you have someone else to compete with, will give you extra motivation. Plus, the support you can offer each other will help you to stay on track.
  • Take full advantage of the support system MiForm offers by logging into to your Immunotec Business or Customer Center.
  • Keep a daily log of what you eat and your exercise activity. This way you can actually see what works best for you for optimal weight loss. See the MiForm Daily Log form at the back of this booklet.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MiForm Weight Management System safe?
Yes, the program has been evaluated by Doctors, nutritionists and dieticians.
How long will I need to stay on the system?
You'll be on the Transformation Phase until you achieve your goals and objectives. After you reach this result, you should move onto the Maintenance Phase. The maintenance phase is just that - something you can comfortably stick with successfully for as long as you'd like. Our objective is overall health and long-term weight management.
Can I start directly with the "Maintenance Phase"?
Certainly, but you may not experience the accelerated weight loss as seen in the Transition Phase.
Should I avoid carbohydrates?
No, MiForm is based on balanced nutrition therefore carbohydrates should be a part of your nutrition. Please refer to your guide for more details.
I am following the MiForm Transformation Plan perfectly, why am I not losing weight?
Stick with the program! Often fat loss is replaced with muscle gain. Muscle is denser than fat, so the shape of your body will reveal the changes. Don't get hung up on the actual weight, there are more important parameters including body composition and of course general health issues like fitness, cholesterol levels and much more.
Why should I eat all of the calories on my menu?
We have designed the program with safety and health in mind. A more aggressive approach is best monitored by a health professional.
Can I speed up my weight loss by eating less?
We have designed the program with safety and health in mind. A more aggressive approach is best monitored by a health professional.
I've lost weight, now what?
Great! If you are close to your goal, move on to the Maintenance Phase. If you still feel you have a ways to go, you may elect to repeat the Transition Phase.
I am under 18. Can I go on MiForm?
This must be discussed with your treating health professional.
Can I go on MiForm if I am diabetic?
This is always best discussed with the treating health professional. Most diabetics are required to avoid sugar. They generally will take products with artificial sweeteners instead.
Can I go on MiForm if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
This must be discussed with your treating health professional.
Are the bars and shakes meal replacements?
The shake has been designed as a meal replacement. The Bar has been designed a snack.
Is the whey in the shake and snack bar Immunocal?
High quality whey is used but that is not the same as Immunocal. The shakes and bars will not have the ability to make any significant difference in your glutathione levels. Be reminded that whey protein has a significantly higher BV (Biological Value) than soy protein.
Do any products contain MSG?
No.
Do the products contain harmful herbs or additives?
No.
Do the products contain peanuts?
We cannot guarantee that the products have not been exposed to peanut residue.
Do the products contain gluten?
Yes.
Do the MiForm Shakes or Bars contain lactose?
Both the MiForm Shakes and Bars contain a negligible amount of lactose (less than 1%). This is far below the threshold that would give the vast majority of lactose intolerant individuals any symptoms.

The shake and bars contain lactose due to the fact that we have used superior high biological value whey protein rather than less effective soy protein.

For those lactose intolerant individuals who take the MiForm Shakes, they should use an alternative to milk to mix the powder. Choices include almond milk, lactase-treated milk and other similar products with which you are comfortable.
Can I mix my shake with water?
Yes, but it will change its nutritional profile. The exact changes appear on the label. It will not meet the federal guidelines for a "meal replacement".
Why is there sugar in the shakes?
We decided to use natural sweeteners as opposed to artificial so the sugar content is higher. If you are taking two shakes a day plus eating as per our guide, you still will be under the RDA for sugar. The sugar will fulfill basic energy requirements. If you follow the plan as directed, you will successfully lose weight.
Can I drink alcohol?
Alcoholic beverages are high in calories. It may be counterproductive to your other efforts.
What beverages are allowed?
There are no restricted beverages per say but keep in mind that liquid calories can add up:

  • 8 oz juice = 130 calories and 5 teaspoons of sugar
  • 12 oz can soft drinks = 150 calories and 8.2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 4 oz wine = 95 calories
  • 1 oz hard alcohol = 70 calories
  • 12 oz can beer= 150 calories
Can I add Splenda to my coffee or tea?
This is a personal choice. Be aware that this is an artificial sweetener.
Can I drink coffee, tea, energy drinks or other caffeinated beverages on the program?
Our system already includes the use of an energy product, Thermal Action. Adding more might potentially lead to side effects.
How much water should I drink?
Water plays an important role in our overall health as well as in a weight management system. We suggest a minimum of eight 8-ounce cups/day for the average person. Increase this if you are doing a lot of exercise or you are in a hot environment.
I have been getting headaches and feeling extremely dizzy and weak while also experiencing sleepless nights, is this normal?
If you are having any severe symptoms, stop the program and see a health professional. The symptoms may or may not be related to the program, so it's best to check them out.
I have had constipation. Why?
Constipation is not uncommon when dieting. Increase your fluid and fiber intake. If the constipation persists, see a medical professional.
I have failed countless times to lose weight and keep it off. Why will this be different?
Our objective is long-term health. We do not stop at just a weight loss program. We follow up with a Maintenance Phase as well as coaching on exercise, nutrition and mindset.
Shouldn't the real goal be improved wellness instead of just weight loss?
Absolutely, see our system objectives and you will see that this is our philosophy as well.
How come the dosage of PNT 200 and Naturally Sourced Calcium stated on the bottle are different than in the Transformation Plan?
The conventional use of these products is different than their application in weight management. If you are taking PNT200 or the Naturally Sourced Calcium strictly for weight management, follow the directions in the MiForm System Guide.
I am thinking of cheating. Are snacks allowed?
If you ever reach the point where you are going to grab some food not in your daily plan, here are some safe choices to help satisfy your hunger but won't throw you too far off the plan.

Can I still take Immunocal or other Immunotec products?
Yes. Many of you who are starting the MiForm Weight Management System may already be taking several Immunotec products. Don't stop as you receive many valuable benefits from these products! Just adjust your calorie calculations as follows: 1 packet of Immunocal = 40 calories, one serving of Cherry Concentrate = 80 calories. The remaining Immunotec products do not contribute significantly to your calorie intake.
Can I add herbs or other seasonings to my meals?
Yes, enjoy!
Is there a difference between how many calories men and women can consume in the Transformation Plan?
Yes, a man may add an additional 200 calories per day to the plan.
What if I exercise a lot, should I consume more calories than the Transformation Plan suggests?
If you exercise at least one hour per day, then you may add an additional 200 calories per day to the plan.
What happens if you skip a shake, for example, when we have 1400 calories? Could you potentially lose more weight? Or would it be harmful to the calorie confusion aspect?
We don't recommend you skip any steps in the plan but if you do just continue with the plan as outlined.
In the Nutrition Guide, it says "High Protein Foods: choose 2 & pick one of each color". Can I have two of the same color proteins?
No, it could affect the calorie count, and the meals wouldn't be balanced. It is best if you choose both colors.
In the Nutrition Guide, when it says you can have 2 oz (60 g) cooked chicken, fish, meats, lobster or crab. Does that also include 2 oz of sushi?
You can add 2 oz of sashimi (raw fish, meat). Sushi is different, it contains rice as well.
In the Nutrition Guide, when it says I can have 2 starches - can I double up on 1?
Yes.
MiForm's Transformation Phase is based on "Calorie Confusion". If we are allowed as many non-starchy vegetables as we need to satisfy strong cravings, doesn't this affect the calories confusion concept?
The non-starchy vegetables all have a certain amount of calories. However, more recent theories on caloric utilization have suggested that not all calories we eat act in the same fashion. Non-starchy vegetables are very unlikely to lead to fat deposition.
How much exercise will I need to do?
The MiForm exercise Guide includes workouts that suit your fitness level from beginner to advanced.
I work out every day. Can I keep working out at the same intensity during my weeks on the Diet?
In most cases, barring extreme workout routines, yes. Exercise should be a critical component of any weight management program. If you work out more than one hour per day, you may add 200 calories.
When is the best time to exercise?
There's no reliable evidence to suggest that calories are burned more efficiently at certain times of day. The most important thing, experts say, is to choose a time of day you can stick with, so that exercise becomes a habit.
What is Proposition (Prop) 65?
Prop 65 is a "right to know" statute in California which requires companies to provide warnings to consumers if their products contain any chemical (even at low levels) determined by the state of California to cause harm such as birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Why is there a warning on our MiForm Shakes, Cherry Concentrate and Thermal Action supplement?
Our MiForm Shakes, Cherry Concentrate and Thermal Action supplement contain extremely low levels of lead (much less than would naturally occur in everyday foods). Lead and other heavy metals are naturally occurring substances found in soil and water, and may automatically be present in food or ingredients as common as cocoa or calcium. Our decision to include a warning on the MiForm Shakes, Cherry Concentrate and Thermal Action means we comply with California state law. It does not, in any way, mean that these products are unsafe.
