A long-time runner, Robbie ran for Ireland as a junior at the European Cross Country Championships and first came to the states for college on a running scholarship. In college, he ran 14:26 for the 5k and 30:06 for the 10k. He was a two time NCAA Championship qualifier in cross country.
In 2009, he made the shift to multisport. That year, he won Powerman Florida. In 2010, Robbie was the 1st overall amateur at both the New York City Triathlon and Columbia, finishing faster than most pros. Robbie qualified for the 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater where he took 2nd on the strength of a 2:07 bike. Robbie also qualified and raced in the 2010 U.S. Open in Dallas. In 2011 Robbie finished 8th at the European Elite Duathlon Championships, he also posted a 9th place finish at the Racine 70.3, one place behind Craig Alexander (2011 World Champ in 70.3 and Kona), he ended his 2011 with a 2nd place at the 13.1 Fort Lauderdale. In 2011 he was undefeated in the San Antonio area. Wade kicked off 2012 with a course record at the Blue Norther Duathlon and winning the Alamo 13.1.
In 2012 Robbie Finished 24th at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Las Vegas NV.
